Link is a white-labelled front-end interface, powered by the Codat API, which seamlessly guides businesses through the process of linking their company data within minutes. Link removes the need for Codat clients to implement their own front-end UX for the linking process and can be included as part of an existing customer journey.
Codat constantly evaluates our product capabilities—always under careful consideration of backward compatibility. We have revamped the Link product to improve the overall experience, enabling your customers to link multiple data sources from their accounting, banking or commerce platforms, in the same simple flow.
Protection of companycompany - An entity (typically an SME) whose data is being connected to via the Codat API. information
The Link product can be accessed by anyone with the Link URL—there's no requirement for users to log in to validate their identity. To protect company information, e.g., what accounting software or bank or platform they use, Codat never divulges any information about companies’ linked data sources in the Link user interface. Instead, we display the number of connected sources per each Accounting, Commerce, Banking platform.
Each company may connect to a single accounting platform. When the user tries to connect another accounting software, a page is displayed confirming that there's one already connected. At this point, two options are offered:
- "Next’", to proceed with the existing connection, or
- Make changes to the existing connection. In this case, the user will be taken back to select an accounting platform again, but will receive a warning that an accounting package is already connected. If the user chooses to progress with the linking process, Codat will check for any existing connection with the newly selected platform. If the platform has already been connected, same connection will be used again. Should there be no connection for that accounting platform, a new one will be created and the previous one will be disconnected.
Each company may connect to many stores, i.e. different platforms or stores within the same platform. When the user tries to connect to another commerce platform, we display a page confirming that there's one already connected. If the user chooses to connect to the same platform (and/or store) multiple times, we will create multiple data connections.
Plaid and TrueLayer can not both be enabled simultaneously.
You may only have one enabled at any time.
Each company may connect to many banks or bank accounts. When the user tries to connect to another bank (or bank account), we display a page confirming that there's one already connected.
If the user chooses to connect to the same bank several times, we will create multiple data connections. Should the user connect the same bank account again, several copies of the same financial data will be created.
